Our Board of Governors
2025-2026
Brian Norton
President
Brian Norton brings 25 years of experience in the commercial mechanical industry and currently serves as a Senior Project Salesman at EMC Mechanical Services in Richmond, Virginia. He began his career as an HVAC apprentice and advanced through roles in service, boiler systems, building automation, and field supervision. His hands-on experience led to leadership of EMC’s Service Department in 2016, followed by a promotion to Vice President in 2019.
He holds Virginia Master licenses in Mechanical, Plumbing, and Gas-fitting, is a Tridium Certified Systems Integrator, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Data Analysis.
Matthew Carter
Chapter President-Elect
When he’s not engineering energy efficient HVAC systems, Matt helps run the Chapter. Matt started his career as in intern, working his way up to becoming an EIT and will soon take the exam for his PE License.
Lauren Garner
Vice President
Lauren is an experienced Sales Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the construction and A/E industry. She has worked for ACES for 12 years. In 2011, Lauren earned her Bachelor of Applied Science with a focus in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University. Lauren has been involved in Richmond ASHRAE for more than a decade and served as the scholarship and outreach chair before progressing to the governing board.
Dillon Wingold
Chapter Treasurer
Dillon is a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager with extensive experience in the preconstruction market. A graduate of VCU, he has a proven track record of driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and leading a high-performing sales and estimating team. Dillon is currently a project manager at Air Control Concepts, a leading commercial HVAC solutions provider.
Sean Stanley
Chapter Secretary
Sean Stanley is the Business Development Manager for Siemens Smart Infrastructure, where he focuses on driving growth in building automation, fire, and security solutions. Based in Virginia, Sean works closely with architects, contractors, and building owners to promote high-performance systems that support energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
Sean is proud to serve as the 2025–2026 Secretary of the ASHRAE Richmond Chapter and is committed to supporting the growth and engagement of our local HVACR community.
Daniel Waltz
Chapter Past- President
After graduating from Hampden-Sydney College in 2018 with a degree in Economics and Business, Daniel then started in the HVAC industry during the summer of 2018, working in the Richmond office of Waltz Engineered Sales, Inc. Daniel has served on the board of ASHRAE since 2020 and looks to continue doing so into the future. The monthly ASHRAE meetings have given him a better understanding of various product and engineering solutions in the HVAC marketplace. He looks to continue assisting ASHRAE in advancing the HVAC industry.
