September Chapter Meeting: Air Distribution for Healthcare Facilities

ASHRAE Richmond is back for a new year of seminars! Our first in-person ASHRAE lunch meeting is on Tuesday, September 12th. It will be held at Willow Oaks Country Club. It will be a hybrid event streamed virtually if you are not able to attend in person; However, we strongly encourage in-person attendance to get the benefit of knowledge exchange and networking before and after the seminar. Presenter: Matthew McLaurin, Segment Manager – Healthcare, Laboratory, and Cleanroom Products – Greenheck
Title: Air Distribution for Healthcare Facilities
This presentation will cover air distribution best practices and standard requirements for Healthcare facilities. Specifically covered will be standard patient rooms, protective environment and airborne infection isolation rooms, and Surgical and Imaging Suites.
About the presenter: Matthew McLaurin has an extensive background in air distribution. He has expertise with engineered systems including Fan Coils, Displacement Ventilation, and Chilled Beams in addition to his focus on air distribution in critical environments. He has held his certification as a Healthcare Facility Design Professional since 2013. Matthew is an active member of ASHRAE participating technical committees and in the development of standards, most recently serving as a member of Standard 70 for performance testing of GRDs.
