About the Program

A session on why hydronic balancing is important, with an overview of balancing methods and how they relate to both the TAB process and operating efficiencies. Being mindful of how balancing directly impacts start up, long term pump and unitary performance, and occupant comfort is crucial to total system success.

What will be covered:

  • General hydronic balancing options
  • Test and balance process comparison, plus a brief overview of DHW balancing and TAB specs
  • Energy usage comparison with pump curves
  • Use of automatic balancing valves with modulating control valves, and the focus points that go with them

Starting with Hays Fluid Controls in 2009, Kirk Phipps has spent 17 years dedicating his time to ensuring projects of all types have proper distribution of flow. Having been in a variety of roles, he is currently the VP of Key Accounts providing consultation within the market segments of Commercial HVAC, Data Centers, Plumbing, Industrial Process, and onboard systems for both the US Navy and private marine vessels.
